ORGANIZATION DEDICATION
The PJ Children's Foundation is dedicated in loving memory to Roberto Garcia. Mr. Garcia, Paul Ledon's grandfather, suffered from Retinitis Pigmentosa from a very age. His degenerative eye condition caused him to lose total vision in both eyes by 2005. Throughout his childhood, Ledon witnessed his grandfather struggle to accomplish tasks and miss out on the beautiful world around him. Mr. Garcia was never able to see his grandchildren grow up or enjoy his two hobbies, playing dominoes with the family and watching the New York Yankees play. From a young age Paul spent time with his grandfather assisting him with activities and would provide play-by-play descriptions of Yankee games so his grandfather could enjoy the game he always loved. Paul was inspired to start The PJ Children's Foundation to provide awareness and support for children struggling with vision impairment so they wouldn’t have to suffer as much as his grandfather.
